the memory: sacred groves, sacred nature
The Memory: Sacred Groves, Sacred Nature is a collaborative video project led by artist and cultural worker Oluwadara Ojugbele. It invites community members to create images that reflect their relationships with nature by responding to one another’s contributions within an evolving story, emphasizing cultural and ancestral perspectives. The project culminated in a video that combines these images into a collective narrative, which was screened in NYC in the summer of 2026.
Events
Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 6:30 PM:
A screening of Oluwadara Ojugbele and collaborators’ The Memory: Sacred Groves, Sacred Nature (2026) followed by a screening of Zoey Martinson’s The Fisherman (2024).
The evening also includes a live set by DJ Pr3tty P.
