Join us at Printed Matter for the New York launch of The Radical Unpresent: Cultural Resistance in a Fractured World (MIT Press), SPCUNY co-director Gregory Sholette’s new study of how artists are navigating the collapse of historical time in our fractured present.
How Do We Continue in Public? is the fourth and final program in Social Practice CUNY's 2026 series How Do We ___________ in Public?: a cycle of free experimental events responding to contemporary crises shaping the cultural field, including the defunding and targeting of public institutions and the erosion of shared civic space. Organized by SPCUNY Co-Director Chloë Bass and SPCUNY Program Coordinator Cory Tamler, this six-hour, open conversational gathering faces the necessity of going on in an age of personal, systemic, ecological, and international polycrises.
