Both events share work from Sounding Data Justice, a collaborative project with Eastern Queens Alliance, Inc. This experimental project works with data on air quality and aircraft noise collected by EQA to advocate for a sustainable Southeast Queens. For one evening, King Manor Museum, a historic home significant in the early 19th century anti-slavery movement in the United States, hosts a sound installation from the project Sounding Data Justice, a collaborative effort between Eastern Queens Alliance, Inc., York College CUNY and SUNY Buffalo.The installation will transform the rooms of the museum into spaces for listening to invite reflection on the long history of today's environmental justice issues. This event is part of the SPCUNY 2025-2026 faculty fellowship project, the Jamaica Forum for Public Art Otherwise.
