wav.pool is a quarterly event celebrating sound artists whose experimental work is overlooked by traditional funding and presentation models. Each gathering showcases 3-4 emerging or underrepresented artists making innovative work that blurs boundaries between sound, performance, and moving image.

While NYC thrives as a podcasting and radio hub, recent industry contraction has led to mass layoffs and increasingly formulaic content, stifling creative innovation. We created the event series as a sanctuary for audio artists to experiment and play outside market pressures.
A collaboration between Constellations, a sound collective and curatorial platform that commissions genre-bending work from audio artists internationally, and Yasaman Mansoori’s award-winning experimental podcast That Intimate Feeling, wav.pool operates at the intersection of sound art, experimental performance, and audience participation.
