Arts Collaboration With Queens Community House – Pomonok Center

I co-facilitated a ceramics program at the community center with the family support coordinator. We focused on discussing mindfulness and building healthy relationships while decorating bisqued ceramic ware with underglazes. I led the ceramics portion of the program and the center’s family support coordinator facilitated the discussions. After the program I took all of the ceramic pieces and glazed and fired them. A week later I went back to the center and hung out with the people who participated in the program and gave them their finished pieces. We are currently planning a second program with a similar format for June as many other families are now interested in being a part of a ceramics program!
